John Force, the legendary 16-time NHRA Funny Car champion, has announced his sudden departure from John Force Racing (JFR), the team he founded and led to unparalleled success. The shocking news came just moments ago during an impromptu press conference.

Force, known for his larger-than-life personality and relentless pursuit of victory, cited personal reasons for his decision to step away from the team immediately. “It’s been an incredible journey, but it’s time for me to focus on my health and family,” Force stated. “The demands of racing and managing the team have taken a toll, and I need to prioritize my well-being.”

The 74-year-old icon expressed gratitude to his fans, team members, and sponsors for their unwavering support throughout his storied career. “I couldn’t have achieved any of this without the incredible support system around me. From my family to my crew and the fans who have cheered me on every step of the way – thank you.”

Force’s departure marks the end of an era in NHRA drag racing. Under his leadership, JFR has won numerous championships and set countless records, solidifying its place as one of the sport’s most dominant teams. His daughters, Brittany and Courtney Force, along with son-in-law Robert Hight, have also been instrumental in the team’s success and will continue to carry the JFR legacy forward.
