Max Verstappen, the current Formula One world champion, was fined for using derogatory language during the Singapore Grand Prix pre-event press conference. The news conference held by the FIA on Thursday prior to the race weekend was scheduled for the Dutch racer to attend. The reigning champion used harsh language for which he was brought to the stewards. After Verstappen was asked to evaluate his car’s performance, he described his setup at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix as “f—ed.” This led to the incident.
Verstappen will now have to “accomplish some work of public interest” as a result of the stewards’ decision to punish him for using profanity during the pre-event press conference. The stewards made this decision after listening to the audio transcript and speaking with the driver and Red Bull team personnel. The stewards took note of the following: they listened to the team representative and driver of Car 1, Max Verstappen, and they went over the audio transcript.
