Baylor Bears women’s basketball head coach Nicki Collen has been named the Associated Press Women’s Basketball Coach of the Year for the third consecutive season, a remarkable achievement that underscores her transformative impact on the program.
Since taking the helm in 2021, Collen has guided Baylor to a 74-28 record, securing NCAA Tournament appearances each year and extending the program’s postseason streak to 20 consecutive seasons. The 2023–24 season was particularly noteworthy, with the Bears finishing 26-8 and reaching the Sweet 16, marking Collen’s deepest tournament run with the team. Under her leadership, Baylor achieved a 14-0 start—the second-best in school history—and concluded the season ranked 13th in the final AP Top 25 poll.
