JUST IN: OU Softball: Explosive Fourth Inning Lifts Oklahoma Past Oklahoma State in Bedlam….

In a highly anticipated Bedlam showdown, the No. 2 Oklahoma Sooners surged past No. 8 Oklahoma State with a dominant 6-2 win, thanks to an explosive fourth inning that flipped the game on its head. Trailing 2-0 heading into the frame, the Sooners ignited their offense with a string of clutch hits, scoring five runs and seizing control of the game.

Alynah Torres started the rally with a leadoff double, followed by back-to-back singles from Kinzie Hansen and Tiare Jennings to plate the first run. Jayda Coleman then delivered the go-ahead blow, launching a two-run triple into the gap. The Sooners continued to pile on, capitalizing on a defensive miscue to extend their lead.

Pitcher Nicole May settled in after a shaky start, shutting down the Cowgirls across the final innings and finishing with seven strikeouts. The win marks another key moment in OU’s season as they eye another Big 12 title and a deep postseason run.

With the victory, Oklahoma extends its winning streak over Oklahoma State and continues its dominance in the Bedlam rivalry. The teams are set to meet again in a series that could have major implications for postseason seeding.
