LSU men’s basketball has enhanced its backcourt by securing a commitment from Jordan Sears, a dynamic guard transferring from the University of Tennessee-Martin (UT Martin). The 5-foot-11 Daytona Beach native will utilize his final year of eligibility with the Tigers.

Over the past two seasons at UT Martin, Sears has been a standout performer, averaging 21.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game. His exceptional shooting efficiency includes a 43.2% mark from three-point range and an 83.9% free throw percentage. These impressive statistics led to first-team All-Ohio Valley Conference honors in both 2023 and 2024, as well as the OVC Newcomer of the Year award in 2023. citeturn0search0

Sears joins a growing list of transfer additions for LSU, including guards Cam Carter from Kansas State and Dji Bailey from Richmond. Carter averaged 14.6 points, 5 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game in the previous season, while Bailey contributed 10.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game, earning the Atlantic 10 Conference’s Most Improved Player award.

These strategic additions are part of LSU’s efforts to strengthen its backcourt for the upcoming season, aiming to build on the team’s progress under Coach McMahon.
