**Breaking News: GLSS Weekend at I-75 Raceway Cancelled Due to Weather; USCS Rescheduling for May**

April 10, 2025 — *Sweetwater, TN* — The Great Lakes Super Sprints (GLSS) weekend at I-75 Raceway has been officially cancelled due to impending severe weather in the region. Originally scheduled for April 11–12, the highly anticipated event was expected to draw sprint car fans from across the Southeast. However, safety concerns due to heavy rain and potential thunderstorms forced the organizers to make the difficult decision.

Officials from I-75 Raceway and GLSS announced the cancellation early Thursday morning after consulting with meteorologists and reviewing updated weather forecasts. The threat of persistent rain, lightning, and deteriorating track conditions made it impossible to ensure a safe and competitive environment for drivers and fans.

“We’re incredibly disappointed to have to cancel this weekend’s GLSS events,” said I-75 Raceway promoter Tim Poe. “But the safety of our racers, crews, and fans is always the top priority. We appreciate everyone’s understanding.”

In related news, the United Sprint Car Series (USCS), which was set to compete as part of the GLSS weekend doubleheader, has already moved to reschedule its appearance. USCS officials have confirmed that the series will return to I-75 Raceway on May 10, giving fans another opportunity to catch high-speed winged sprint car action on the East Tennessee clay oval.

Ticket holders are encouraged to follow I-75 Raceway and GLSS social media channels for refund information and updates on future events. Fans can also visit [i75raceway.com](http://i75raceway.com) for the latest details.

While the weather has put a damper on this weekend’s racing, excitement is already building for the rescheduled USCS event in May, which promises to deliver thrilling competition under (hopefully) clearer skies.
