In a significant move for Oklahoma Sooners softball, left-handed pitcher SJ Geurin is set to rejoin the team for the upcoming 2025 season. Geurin, who redshirted her freshman year in 2023, made nine relief appearances in 2024, posting a 0.70 ERA with a 2-0 record. She entered the transfer portal in June 2024 and transferred to Auburn University, where she was part of the Tigers’ roster for the 2025 season.

During her time at Auburn, Geurin continued to develop her skills, gaining valuable experience in the competitive Southeastern Conference (SEC). Her decision to return to Oklahoma comes as the Sooners transition into the SEC, bringing her back into familiar territory. Geurin’s return is expected to bolster the Sooners’ pitching staff, adding depth and experience as they aim for continued success in their new conference.

Head Coach Patty Gasso expressed enthusiasm about Geurin’s return, noting that her growth and maturity during her time away will be invaluable assets to the team. Fans eagerly anticipate Geurin’s contributions as the Sooners embark on this new chapter in the SEC.
