Following Penn State’s narrow 27–24 loss to Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff semifinals, head coach James Franklin offered unwavering support to quarterback Drew Allar, who threw a pivotal interception in the game’s final moments. Franklin emphasized Allar’s dedication and resilience, stating, “Drew [Allar] is a passionate guy, he invests so much into his development, but also his teammates and Penn State. He’ll handle this how he handles everything else — with a first-class approach.”

In the aftermath, Allar took responsibility for the interception, acknowledging the need for better decision-making under pressure. Despite this setback, he has chosen to return for the 2025 season, bypassing the NFL Draft to pursue a national championship with the Nittany Lions. Franklin highlighted the importance of learning from both successes and failures, encouraging the team to use every experience to grow and improve.

Allar’s decision to stay, coupled with Franklin’s steadfast support, underscores a collective commitment to turning challenges into opportunities for development and future success.
