Junior forward Kirsten Simms was instrumental in the win, scoring the game-tying goal on a penalty shot with just 18 seconds remaining in regulation and netting the game-winner 2:49 into overtime.
This triumph marks Wisconsin’s fourth national title in six seasons, underscoring the program’s dominance in women’s collegiate hockey. The Badgers concluded the season with an impressive 35-1-2 record, led by national MVP Casey O’Brien.
