So Sad: I will be leaving, Braeden Davis officially announces to leave the Penn State wrestling…
Braeden Davis, a standout sophomore wrestler for Penn State, has officially announced his departure from the Nittany Lions wrestling program. Davis, hailing from Belleville, Michigan, made an immediate impact as a true freshman during the 2023-24 season, capturing the Big Ten Championship at 125 pounds and concluding the season with an impressive 22-4 record.

In the 2024-25 season, Davis moved up to the 133-pound weight class, where he faced a series of challenges, including injuries that sidelined him for key matches against Iowa, Michigan, and Maryland. Despite these setbacks, he managed notable victories, such as an 8-5 win over Ohio State’s Nic Bouzakis.
Davis’s decision to leave the program comes after a season of ups and downs, including a narrow 3-1 loss to Rutgers’ Dylan Shawver in the Big Ten Championships quarterfinals. He rebounded in the consolation bracket with a 17-2 technical fall over Purdue’s Dustin Norris and a 10-5 decision against Angelo Rini.
While Davis has not publicly disclosed his reasons for departing, his contributions to Penn State wrestling have been significant, and his absence will undoubtedly be felt in the lineup.
