Penn State wrestling land commitment from No.1 top wrestler CJ Carter in Iowa State wrestling……..
Iowa State University has bolstered its wrestling roster with the addition of CJ Carter, a distinguished heavyweight wrestler from Glenwood, Iowa. Carter, who clinched the 2024 NJCAA heavyweight title during his tenure at Iowa Western Community College, brings a commendable record to the Cyclones. In his championship run, he posted a 19-3 season and notably upset the top seed in the semifinals with an 8-5 sudden victory, overcoming a 4-2 deficit in the final moments.

Prior to his junior college success, Carter was a two-time Iowa High School Class 2A state runner-up for Glenwood High School, concluding his senior year with a 46-4 record, including 24 falls.
Iowa State’s head wrestling coach, Kevin Dresser, expressed enthusiasm about Carter’s commitment, stating, “We are very excited to add CJ Carter to our roster. He’s an athletic big man and we are excited to watch him progress.”
Carter’s addition is expected to enhance the Cyclones’ depth in the heavyweight division, complementing existing talents such as Sam Schuyler and Ethan Anderson. His proven resilience and competitive spirit are anticipated to contribute significantly to Iowa State’s wrestling program in the upcoming seasons.
