Alex Bowman Addresses Shocking Hendrick Motorsports Exit R…

Alex Bowman, driver of the No. 48 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports, has firmly dismissed recent rumors suggesting his departure from the team. Addressing the speculation during the NASCAR Cup Series Playoff Media Day on September 4, 2024, Bowman expressed frustration over the unfounded claims. He emphasized his commitment to Hendrick Motorsports, stating, “Obviously, my contract is through the end of 2026 and all I can tell you is what my bosses have told me and that there’s no plans to change anything. Rumors are just rumors.”

These rumors ori

ginated from comments made by NASCAR spotters Brett Griffin and Freddie Kraft on the “Door Bumper Clear” podcast. Griffin suggested that Bowman’s position might be at risk if he did not perform well in the playoffs, while Kraft hinted at possible unannounced driver changes.

Bowman acknowledged the annoyance caused by the speculation and highlighted his proactive approach to addressing it. He mentioned, “It got to the point where I picked up the phone and called everybody and everybody said, ‘Absolutely not.’ So, that’s really all I have to go on.”

Team owner Rick Hendrick also stepped in to quash the rumors, confirming that Bowman will continue to drive the No. 48 Chevrolet in the upcoming season. This confirmation aims to stabilize the internal dynamics at Hendrick Motorsports and allow Bowman to focus on his performance without distraction.
