Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Timothy Liljegren has confirmed his departure from the team, expressing his willingness to leave to allow another player to take his spot. Liljegren, who was drafted 17th overall in 2017, played in just one game this season—a 6-2 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on October 16. In his farewell, teammate Morgan Rielly praised Liljegren’s work ethic and expressed confidence in his future success. Liljegren has signed with the San Jose Sharks, where he is expected to have a more prominent role.
