As of March 2025, there is no publicly available information indicating that Jayden James, a standout wrestler from New Jersey, has committed to Penn State University. In September 2024, James announced his commitment to Virginia Tech. At the time of his commitment, James was ranked as the No. 11 overall wrestling recruit in the country by MatScouts and projected to compete in the 165 or 174-pound weight classes in college. He is a two-time Fargo national champion and had finishes of third and second in the New Jersey High School championships in his first two years of high school.

Penn State’s wrestling program has continued to strengthen its roster with top-tier recruits. In November 2024, the Nittany Lions secured a commitment from Marcus Blaze, the No. 1 ranked wrestling recruit in the 2025 class according to FloWrestling. Blaze, from Perrysburg, Ohio, is a three-time Ohio Division I state champion with an overall record of 157-2. His accolades include a U17 world title in 2023 and a third-place finish at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials at 57 kg.

Additionally, Penn State’s 2025 recruiting class features other notable talents such as P.J. Duke, William Henckel, Nate Desmond, and Dalton Perry, further solidifying the program’s reputation for attracting elite wrestlers.
