Alex Bowman, driver of the No. 48 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports, secured the pole position for the Straight Talk Wireless 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on March 22, 2025, achieving a lap speed of 168.845 mph. Despite this accomplishment, Bowman did not consider Homestead one of his stronger tracks, with his best finish there being seventh place.
In the race on March 23, Bowman led 43 laps but finished second to his teammate, Kyle Larson. A crucial mistake on Lap 261, when Bowman brushed the wall in turn three, allowed Larson to overtake him. Reflecting on the race, Bowman acknowledged, “I guess I choked that one away.”
This performance marked Bowman’s fifth top-10 finish in the first six races of the 2025 season, placing him third in the Cup Series points standings, 75 points above the playoff cut line.
