Penn State Wrestling Recruiting: PSU Commit, Sister Become National Champs….

Penn State wrestling commit William Henckel and his sister, Sydney, both achieved national championships over the weekend. William, representing Blair Academy in New Jersey, secured the National Prep Championship title at 175 pounds by defeating Wyoming Seminary’s Dominic Federici with a 7-2 decision. Sydney, competing for Blair Academy’s girls’ team, clinched her own national title, marking a significant accomplishment for the Henckel family.

William, who committed to Penn State in late December, is ranked as the No. 12 overall recruit in the Class of 2025 by FloWrestling. His recent victory adds to Penn State’s impressive recruiting class, which includes other top talents like P.J. Duke and Nate Desmond. Sydney’s championship highlights the growing prominence of women’s wrestling at the national level.
