On February 19, 2025, the Penn State Nittany Lions snapped a seven-game losing streak with an emphatic 89-72 victory over the Nebraska Cornhuskers at University Park, Pennsylvania. The game was highlighted by a balanced offensive effort, with five Nittany Lions scoring in double figures. Yanic Konan Niederhauser and Zach Hicks led the team with 19 points each, while D’Marco Dunn contributed 17 points. Ace Baldwin Jr. added 10 points, eight assists, and six steals, reaching a significant milestone by recording his 800th career assist, making him the 52nd player in Division I history to achieve this feat.

Penn State showcased exceptional shooting efficiency, connecting on 60.7% of their field goal attempts and converting 13 of 14 free throws. Defensively, they forced turnovers and capitalized on them, maintaining a double-digit lead for the majority of the game. The Nittany Lions’ dominance was evident as they led by 23 points at halftime and extended their advantage to as much as 26 points in the second half.

 

This victory improved Penn State’s season record to 14-13 overall and 4-12 in the Big Ten Conference, providing a much-needed boost as they aimed to build momentum in the latter part of the season.
