As of March 25, 2025, the Toronto Maple Leafs have not announced any recent signings of top-tier talent to a one-year contract. However, earlier in the 2024-2025 season, the team made notable additions to bolster their roster:

Max Pacioretty: On October 7, 2024, the Maple Leafs signed veteran forward Max Pacioretty to a one-year contract worth $873,770. Pacioretty, 35, joined Toronto after attending training camp on a professional tryout. With a distinguished NHL career spanning 17 seasons, he has amassed 668 points (330 goals, 338 assists) over 902 regular-season games. His leadership and experience were anticipated to enhance Toronto’s offensive depth.

Alex Nylander: On November 22, 2024, the Maple Leafs signed forward Alex Nylander to a one-year contract valued at $775,000. Prior to this, Nylander had been performing impressively with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies, recording 12 points (eight goals, four assists) in 14 games. The 26-year-old winger, originally drafted eighth overall by the Buffalo Sabres in 2016, has accumulated 49 points (25 goals, 24 assists) in 121 NHL games across stints with Buffalo, Chicago, Pittsburgh, and Columbus.

These strategic signings underscore the Maple Leafs’ commitment to strengthening their lineup with experienced and skilled players as they pursue success in the current NHL season.
