Breaking : Toronto Maple Leafs reportedly agree on a blockbuster deal with…
The Toronto Maple Leafs have been active in the trade market recently, making significant moves to bolster their roster. On March 7, 2025, they acquired veteran forward Scott Laughton from the Philadelphia Flyers. Laughton, who spent 12 seasons with the Flyers, brings experience and depth to the Leafs’ lineup. In exchange, Toronto sent forward Nikita Grebenkin and a top-10 protected 2027 first-round pick to Philadelphia. The deal also included a fourth-round pick in 2025 and a sixth-round pick in 2027 going to Toronto, with the Flyers retaining 50% of Laughton’s remaining contract.

Additionally, the Maple Leafs strengthened their defense by acquiring Brandon Carlo from the Boston Bruins. Carlo, known for his defensive reliability, was part of a broader roster overhaul by the Bruins, which also saw them trade Brad Marchand to the Florida Panthers. Carlo expressed enthusiasm about joining Toronto, stating, “What an opportunity for me to go in there and try and help this group win.”
These strategic acquisitions demonstrate the Maple Leafs’ commitment to enhancing their roster as they aim for a deep playoff run.
