BREAKING NEWS: Former Wisconsin Badgers men basketball head coach Bo Ryan now the author of several books, sent a message to Wisconsin Badgers current HC Greg Gard concerning his unplanned..

Bo Ryan, the legendary former head coach of the Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball team, has expressed his admiration for the program’s evolution under current head coach Greg Gard. Ryan, who led the Badgers to 14 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances and two Final Fours during his tenure, has been a supportive mentor to Gard, his longtime assistant.

Since taking over in December 2015, Gard has adapted Wisconsin’s offensive approach to align with modern basketball trends. The Badgers have seen an increase in scoring, averaging 88.5 points through the first four games of the current season and achieving a significant victory over No. 9 Arizona. Ryan appreciates these adjustments, noting that Gard has successfully maintained the program’s core principles while embracing necessary changes.

Reflecting on Gard’s leadership, Ryan stated, “Greg has done that with this group. It is a tough business and everybody has their ups and downs. Hey, that’s life. That’s what we’re trying to teach our players as coaches. We’re teaching them about life.”

Ryan’s endorsement underscores his confidence in Gard’s ability to lead the Badgers effectively, blending traditional values with contemporary strategies to ensure the program’s continued success.
