The pep band, known as the “Roar of Cougars” (ROC) band, had previously faced restrictions due to scheduling conflicts and commitments to other university events. The new agreement ensures the band’s participation in all remaining home games, enhancing the game-day atmosphere for fans and players alike.

Additionally, the ROC band will travel with the BYU basketball team to postseason games, starting with the Big 12 Conference Tournament scheduled for March 11-15 in Kansas City. This inclusion aims to provide consistent support and maintain the energetic environment that the band is known for.

The decision to reinstate the pep band has been met with enthusiasm from students and alumni, many of whom expressed their support through petitions and social media. The band’s return is expected to significantly enhance the fan experience at BYU basketball games, contributing to a vibrant and spirited atmosphere throughout the remainder of the season.
