Good news: the very best has returned… Toronto Marple in ecstasy…..full details
The Toronto Maple Leafs are still without forward Matthew Knies, whose absence is negatively affecting the team’s performance. The 22-year-old was placed on injured reserve (IR) retroactive to January 22. In response, the team activated Max Pacioretty from IR. Knies has missed three games since sustaining an upper-body injury against the Columbus Blue Jackets when he fell awkwardly on his right arm. Despite his absence, Knies has been one of Toronto’s top performers this season, with 18 goals and 31 points in 47 games. The Leafs have struggled without him, losing all three games he couldn’t finish, scoring only one goal in each. Their most recent defeat was a 3-1 loss to the Minnesota Wild. Head coach Craig Berube mentioned that Knies is recovering well and feels better each day. The team is optimistic that Knies could return by the start of their upcoming road trip on Saturday against the Edmonton Oilers. They will assess his progress during Friday’s practice in Edmonton before making a final decision. Toronto is currently second in the Atlantic Division with a 30-19-2 record, just one point behind the Florida Panthers.
