Good news for Penn state nittany lions, their goalie Noah Grannan has just…..
Noah Grannan, a sophomore goaltender for Penn State men’s hockey, made his first start of the season in a game against Alaska Anchorage. Despite having limited game action, Grannan showed a calm and focused approach, maintaining his usual pregame routine. His first challenge came after 13 minutes, when the Seawolves had their first shot on goal. A turnover by Penn State led to a breakaway, but Grannan was quick to deny the shot. Though faced with fewer shots early on, he stayed mentally engaged, adopting a “next-shot mentality” to remain sharp.
The Nittany Lions came out strong, with Christian Sarlo scoring early, providing Grannan with some early support. Grannan eventually faced 25 shots, stopping 24, and secured his first win of the season. Penn State won the game, and head coach Guy Gadowsky praised Grannan’s performance, especially for staying focused despite minimal action at the start. His solid performance highlighted the importance of backup goalies being ready when needed, especially in long seasons where the starter requires rest. Grannan’s resilience and preparation were key factors in helping his team secure the victory
