The Texas Longhorns are ‘in the mix’ for the most important transfer portal edge……..

The Texas Longhorns are actively pursuing top talent in the NCAA Transfer Portal to bolster their roster for the upcoming season. Notably, they are in contention for former Georgia Bulldogs’ five-star edge rusher, Damon Wilson. According to reports, Texas is competing with Ohio State and Missouri for Wilson’s commitment. The Longhorns have maintained consistent communication with Wilson’s camp and are arranging a visit once the recruiting dead period concludes.

Securing Wilson would be a significant addition for Texas, especially considering the recent departures at the edge position. Senior BUCK Barryn Sorrell is graduating and entering the NFL Draft, and the team has seen transfers from Justice Finkley and Tausili Akana. These changes have created opportunities and a pressing need for talent in this area.

In addition to targeting Wilson, the Longhorns have successfully acquired former Arkansas linebacker/edge Brad Spence. Spence, who recorded 54 tackles and 4.5 sacks last season, brings versatility and experience to the defense. His ability to function as both a traditional linebacker and an edge rusher will be valuable for Texas in the upcoming season.

These strategic moves in the transfer portal underscore Texas’ commitment to strengthening their defensive lineup and maintaining competitiveness in the forthcoming season.
