NASCAR NEWS: “Right now” Kyle Larson Officially Announces his retirement and Reason Why…
As of January 5, 2025, there is no official announcement regarding Kyle Larson’s retirement from NASCAR. However, in early 2024, Larson hinted at the possibility of an early retirement from the NASCAR Cup Series. In an interview with Kenny Wallace, he mentioned, “Sitting here right now, I don’t see myself going to 40. But that’s not me retiring from racing.”
Larson, born on July 31, 1992, would be 32 years old at the time of this statement. He expressed a desire to focus on other racing pursuits while still in his prime, stating, “For me, there’s a lot of stuff that I want to accomplish while I’m still in my prime.” He indicated plans to race for another seven or eight years, aiming to secure his financial future and then compete for premier dirt series championships.
These comments suggest that while Larson may consider stepping away from NASCAR earlier than some might expect, he intends to continue racing in other formats. As of now, no official retirement announcement has been made, and Larson remains an active competitor in the NASCAR Cup Series.
