Dale Earnhardt Jr comments on the iconic font returning to JR Motorsports…….

Dale Earnhardt Jr. has expressed his excitement about the return of his iconic No. 8 font to JR Motorsports for the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series. The stylized No. 8, which Earnhardt Jr. famously drove during his early NASCAR career, will be featured on Sammy Smith’s Chevrolet next season.

Earnhardt Jr. shared his enthusiasm, stating, “It’s awesome to have this number and font back at [JR Motorsports]. Can’t wait to see it on [Sammy Smith’s] car next season.”

The No. 8 has deep roots in the Earnhardt family, with Dale Jr.’s grandfather, Ralph Earnhardt, winning championships with the number in 1959 and 1960. The return of the original font became possible after Teresa Earnhardt, Dale Jr.’s stepmother, relinquished her rights to the trademark earlier this year.

Sammy Smith, set to drive the No. 8 car, expressed his honor in carrying forward the legacy, stating, “I’m honored to bring this version of the legendary 8 back to the track. Thank you Dale Jr. and JR Motorsports.”

The reintroduction of the No. 8 in its original font has been met with enthusiasm from fans and the NASCAR community, symbolizing a nostalgic return to a significant era in the sport’s history. Earnhardt Jr. emphasized the personal significance of this development, noting that seeing the number on the track at Daytona will be a special moment for him.
