GOOD NEWS: Celtics are bringing him back

To the dismay of many Celtic supporters, Rodgers moved for Leicester City in February 2019 and made his managerial comeback in June when he took Ange Postecoglou’s place.

With this week’s league title victory, the 51-year-old Northern Irishman gave Celtic fans his eighth trophy as manager. On May 25, he will aim for a ninth trophy when the team plays Rangers in the Scottish Cup final.

On Saturday midday, Celtic plays their final Premiership match against St Mirren at home. Following the match, the team will receive the Premiership trophy, which will be their third in three years.

“Throughout the entire season, the support I’ve received has been unwavering,” Aaron Rodgers stated on the team’s YouTube account.

I will always be grateful to Dermot for bringing me back because, despite my success, it was such a daring move on the part of him and the board to do so, even though they knew it might not be well received.

“I’m so happy I did come back; they were able to persuade me to do so with their insight and foresight.

“I know that we’ll be back bigger and stronger for next season.”
